Adam Khamchiev needs treatment after attack

Ingush blogger Adam Khamchiev stays in a hospital after being beaten, reports human rights defender Magomed Mutsolgov. According to him, the attack on the blogger, well-known for criticizing officials, took place because of a domestic conflict. Adam Khamchiev has not been active in the public space since his detention in the last year and institution of a criminal case against him for illegal possession of weapons, notes journalist Isabella Evloeva.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that blogger Adam Khamchiev, who criticized officials, ended up in the hospital after several men unknown to him attacked and beat him in Malgobek.

Adam Khamchiev stays in the hospital, and it may turn out that severe harm was inflicted to his health, says Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the “MASHR” human rights organization. “His social activity turned into a domestic conflict and ended in a beating. This is an attempted murder,” the human rights defender believes.

Recently, Adam Khamchiev has not been engaged in blogging and social activities, notes Isabella Evloeva, the editor-in-chief of the “Fortanga” publication.

The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that on January 27, 2022, members of the “Civil Initiative” Party with reference to eyewitnesses reported about the kidnapping of Adam Khamchiev, a blogger and a party member. Prior to that, the blogger announced threats against him.
