Native of Chechnya complains about beating by law enforcers in Croatia

Law enforcers have beaten up a native of Chechnya who had arrived in Croatia. Complaints also arrive from other people from this camp, human rights defenders have informed, demanding from the Croatian Prosecutor's Office to punish those responsible.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 7, it became known that in Croatia, law enforcers detained at least 15 natives of Chechnya, who had arrived from Russia, and used violence against them, demanding from them to recall their asylum requests.

In Croatia, law enforcers have beaten up an arrived native of Chechnya and sent him to a closed camp. He was kept in solitary cell of the refugee camp for several days; and on the way law enforcers used "unjustified violence" against him, said Isa Daduev, an activist of the Assembly of European Chechens.

According to Daduev, the reason for the man's detention was in problems with his documents. When the native of Chechnya was given a phone, he sent a photo with traces of beatings to his relatives living in Europe.

"He was set free on the condition that he would not tell anything ... In Croatia, these violations are massive," the "Kavkaz.Realii" project has quoted Daduev as saying.

Let us remind you that natives of Chechnya are also facing problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in particular, when they try to get to Croatia. Thus, on December 28, at least 30 natives of Chechnya were stuck at the border due to the refusal of border guards to let them into Croatia.
