Associates of Chechen Tepsurkaev report details of his death

Salman Tepsurkaev, a native of Chechnya, was killed in September 2020 and buried in an unmarked grave because his relatives were told to "bury him like a dog," a Chechen Telegram channel asserts.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Olga Sadovskaya, a lawyer of the "Team against Torture"*, stated that Tepsurkaev could not be helped; and it is known for sure about his death.

In September 2020, a video showed a naked Tepsurkaev sitting on a bottle, explaining that he was doing this as a punishment for cooperating with the 1Adat** Telegram channel that criticized Chechen authorities, received a broad resonance.

According to the administers of the oppositional channel, Tepsurkaev was killed on September 15, 2020, near the village of Djalka. They roped him up and blew him up with a grenade; the body was given out to relatives, who were ordered to "bury him like a dog."

In June 2021, Chechen investigators refused to recognize Salman Tepsurkaev's wife as the victim. The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) found Russian authorities responsible for the kidnapping and torture of Tepsurkaev and appointed him 26,000 euros as compensation.

Earlier, the "Daptar" outlet reported that Elizaveta, Tepsurkaev's wife, almost from the first days of her husband's disappearance, tried to prove law enforcers that she was his wife. The point is that they hadn't registered their marriage at the registry office, limiting them to a Muslim marriage "nikyakh". That is, according to documents, she is not Tepsurkaev's wife.

It is also noted that his parents refused from Salman; and his "comrades in arms" cannot help him with anything, except for virtual indignation.
