Yerevan: opposition resumes protest marches

In Yerevan, the Armenian opposition has resumed protest marches demanding resignation of the government. The protest leaders have put forward a number of demands to the authorities, including the inadmissibility of Nagorno-Karabakh's entry into Azerbaijan, and the issue of demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding protests demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. On May 30, the police reported 111 detainees for hooliganism. In their turn, oppositionists claimed that the police had used excessive force during detentions.

The today's march is accompanied by patriotic songs. The organizers plan to visit state structures aiming to clarify whether the top managers of these organizations support the opposition's positions on Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

In his social network page, Ishkhan Sagatelyan, a Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament from the "Aiastan" bloc, has presented the "red lines" that authorities should not cross. He has also stated that by the demarcation outcomes, any violation of the territorial integrity of Armenia is ruled out.

The opposition believes that Armenia should contribute to the full realization of the right of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to self-determination. According to opposition's demands, Karabakh should never be part of Azerbaijan.
