Three residents of Yessentuki fined for discrediting armed forces

The Yessentuki City Court imposed fines ranging from 30,000 to 35,000 roubles on three local residents, finding them guilty of discrediting the Russian armed forces.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that residents of the regions of Southern Russia regularly hold pacifist actions, and the law enforcement bodies periodically report about the punishment of residents under the article about discrediting the Russian armed forces and under the article about spreading fakes about them. So, on April 22, it became known that a resident of Lermontov was fined for his pacifist action.

According to the investigators’ version, two residents of the Stavropol Territory posted on their personal pages on social media the information discrediting the Russian armed forces. Another resident placed on the rear window of his car a sheet of paper with large printed text, the meaning of which undermined the authority of the Russian armed forces.

In Yessentuki, the police identified the suspects, and protocols were drawn up against them under the article on discrediting the Russian armed forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Stavropol Territory reported. “According to the decision of the Yessentuki City Court, all three residents were sentenced to a fine in the amount of 30,000-35,000 roubles,” reports the press release of the MIA for the Stavropol Territory received today by the “Caucasian Knot”.
