Relatives of perished militaries demand to arrest Nikol Pashinyan

On April 30, the parents of the military servicemen who perished during the autumn war of 2020 held a march in Yerevan demanding to initiate a criminal case against the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, and to arrest him.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 13, Nikol Pashinyan stated at parliament that he could have avoided casualties in the 2020 autumn war by surrendering territories. On April 26, 2022, victims' relatives held a rally demanding to hold Pashinyan accountable for the casualties. On April 18, they appealed to the Armenian GPO with a demand to open a criminal case and investigate Pashinyan's statements.

On April 30, the parents of the perished soldiers intended to march from Freedom Square to the government, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO), and then return to Freedom Square, the "Galatv.am" has reported referring to Gegam Nazaryan, an MP from the "Armenia" parliamentary faction.

The parents' march ended near the GPO building. The "Galatv.am" has posted a video footage from the venue. It shows the marchers walking down the street, carrying photos of their dead children, Armenian flags and posters. Policemen stand near the column and do not interfere with the march. The marchers used megaphones to speak out.

"Arthur Davtyan (the Prosecutor General of Armenia, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), I appeal to you: look carefully at the faces of these boys, and support their parents. Arthur Davtyan, there are two days left for you to decide whether you arrest Nikol (Pashinyan) or not. Look carefully: in the place of any of these guys there could be a photo of your boys and of your brothers," the "Galatv.am" has quoted Gegam Nazaryan, who also lost his son during the hostilities.
