"Civil Initiative" reports kidnapping of activist Adam Khamchiev in Magas

Law enforcers have kidnapped Adam Khamchiev, a blogger and a member of the "Civil Initiative" Party, from his flat in the city of Magas, his fellow party members have reported.

According to Khamchiev's neighbours, he was kidnapped by law enforcers, Isropil Nalgiev, a member of the Ingush branch of the above party, has informed.

Mr Nalgiev has explained that Khamchiev had raised the problems that concern residents of the republic. According to his version, recently Khamchiev has been dealing with the complaints received by the Ingush branch of the party about the work of the perinatal centre in Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 23, a newborn baby of an Ingush woman died at the above perinatal centre. The woman's relatives believe that the baby's death was the result of medical negligence. Adam Khamchiev said then that the party received more than 70 complaints from residents of the republic about poor-quality medical services, which led to serious health consequences.
