Tumso Abdurakhmanov reports about kidnapping of his relatives in Chechnya

Relatives on the sides of the father and the mother of opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, living in Chechnya, have been kidnapped tonight. The blogger associates the kidnapping to his brother’s criticism of Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the Chechen parliament.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 27, blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov and his brother, both of whom live in the European Union, reported that the Chechen authorities had passed them a warning about blood revenge to their relatives living in the village of Starye Atagi in Chechnya.

Today, Tumso Abdurakhmanov has announced that his six relatives were kidnapped. “Tonight, the Kadyrov’s people kidnapped the relatives on the sides of my father and my mother,” the blogger wrote on his Telegram channel. According to Tumso Abdurakhmanov, cousins of his father Movldy, Musa, and Movsar Abdurakhmanov, his second cousin Mokhmad Aburakhmanov, as well as his mother’s brothers Salambek and Muslim Khasarov were kidnapped. “The whereabouts of the kidnapped relatives are unknown,” the blogger wrote.

Tumso Abdurakhmanov also mentioned that earlier, an ultimatum had been voiced to his family members. “They must stop me, otherwise, they were threatened with blood feud,” the blogger wrote in his post.

Tumso Abdurakhmanov associates the kidnapping of his relatives with a video posted by his brother Mukhammad. “Yesterday, my brother posted a video [about speaker of the Chechen parliament Magomed Daudov] on his YouTube channel. The kidnapping of our relatives may be a reaction to the posted video,” the blogger noted.
