In October 2020, 12 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In October 2020, 12 people suffered during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: 11 perished and one was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

In Chechnya, in the course of armed clashes and special operations, eight people perished and one was wounded. The death toll included two law enforcers and six alleged members of the armed underground; one law enforcer was wounded.

In Dagestan, two alleged members of an illegal armed formation (IAF) were killed during an attempt to detain them.

In Ingushetia, during a special operation, a man was killed, who, according to law enforcers, was involved in the armed underground.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania and the Stavropol Territory, no victims of the armed conflict were recorded in October 2020.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them.
