US imposed sanctions on five persons from Kadyrov's retinue

The US authorities have included five individuals and six legal entities associated with the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, into the Magnitsky list, namely, Vakhit Usmaev, the deputy chairman of the Chechen government, the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation and two sports clubs named "Akhmat".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 20, the US authorities announced new sanctions against Ramzan Kadyrov, considering the information that the head of Chechnya "is responsible for numerous gross violations of human rights committed more than ten years ago, including torture and extrajudicial executions," is truthful.

The US authorities have expanded the Magnitsky list, adding five individuals who, according to the US Treasury, are associated with Ramzan Kadyrov: Timur Dugazaev from Germany, Simar Satisha from India and the Russians Daniil Martynov, Ziyad Sabsabi and Vakhit Usmaev. Ramzan Kadyrov himself is also on the list.

Sanctions are also introduced against the "Akhmat" Football Club (FC), the "Akhmat" Absolute Championship, the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, the "Megastroyinvest" LLC, the "Akhmat" Mixed Martial Arts Club (ASA), says the statement posted on the website of the US Treasury.

The restrictive measures are imposed in connection with the involvement in serious human rights violations, the Reuters has explained citing the US Treasury.
