Arutyunyan reports 25,000 returnees to Nagorno-Karabakh

In five days, 25,000 people, who had earlier left their homes, returned to Nagorno-Karabakh, said Araik Arutyunyan, President of the unrecognized republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 10, the agreement signed by Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the end of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh came into force; and local residents-forced migrants began returning home.

The "Caucasian Knot" has drafted a map to show the territories that will pass over to Azerbaijan after the autumn war. Also, the "Caucasian Knot" has published a deployment map of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In five days, 25,000 people have already returned to Nagorno-Karabakh, President Arutyunyan stated on November 22 at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, in Yerevan. "The return of our compatriots occurs at a fairly fast pace. In just five days, 25,000 have returned – this is the data of our registration centre," said Arutyunyan.

According to his story, so far, the people who have housing are returning. The rest will return in stages to be able to accommodate place them, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Mr Arutyunyan has added that the Yerevan's operative headquarters "will try to reimburse some expenses" for the stay of Nagorno-Karabakh residents in Armenia and utility bills, the RIA informs.
