Four journalists wounded in Nagorno-Karabakh

In the city of Martuni in the east of Nagorno-Karabakh, a group of foreign journalists came under fire. Two reporters of the French Le Monde and two Armenian journalists were wounded, the united information centre under the government of Armenia reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that combat actions have been going on in the Karabakh conflict zone since September 27. The martial law is in force in Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

On his Facebook page, Artsrun Ovannisyan, the spokesperson for the operational headquarters under the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia, reports that today, the Azerbaijani troops have resumed shelling attacks on villages and cities. "The enemy uses artillery to shell Hadrut," wrote Artsrun Ovannisyan as translated from the Armenian language by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Two Le Monde reporters were wounded in Nagorno-Karabakh. The French citizens came under fire in Martuni, the united information centre under the government of Armenia reported. The wounded journalists were hospitalized.

Besides, Aram Grigoryan, an operator of the "Armenia" TV Channel, and a reporter of the Armenian website "24news" were wounded in Martuni, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports with reference to the united information centre under the government of Armenia. The report does not mention the name of the wounded reporter from the website "24news". The nature of the injuries got by the journalists and their severity are not disclosed in the report.

Other foreign reporters, including Dmitry Yelovsky, the deputy editor-in-chief of the "Dozhd" (Rain) TV Channel, also came under fire in Martuni. Today, the journalists were examining the houses damaged by shells in Martuni on September 27 and 28. "Fortunately, there was a basement nearby, and we all ran there. Our colleagues from Le Monde were in another car," said Dmitry Yelovsky as quoted in a post on the website of the "Dozhd" TV Channel.
