Torture traces on South-Ossetian resident horrify social network users

Social networks have posted photos of the body of Inal Djabiev, who died after detention for an attempt on Igor Naniev, the head of South-Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Facebook users have urged to punish the people who had severely beaten Djabiev up.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 17, in Tskhinvali, Igor Naniev's service was shelled. Nobody was hurt. Inal Djabiev, detained in connection with the attack, has died in hospital today. Hundreds of people gathered outside the South-Ossetian Cabinet of Ministers (CoM) and demanded the resignation of the government. Erik Pukhaev, the CoM head, has announced his resignation in order not to let the republic's president down.

Djabiev's relatives believe that he had been tortured.

Photos of Djabiev's body appeared on the Facebook. Extensive bruises are seen on his arms, legs and back, and a deep wound is on his wrist.

"It's horrible what these toads are doing. There is no live place on the body," wrote Olesya Plieva. "What kind of bastards they have to be in order to mock their brother like that," said Ludmila Galabajeva. She offered to send these photos to Brussels.

Let us note here that on February 28, 2018, Djabiev was attacked by three law enforcers, who broke his jaw and knocked his teeth out. Instagram users suggested then that Inal Djabiev was mistaken for his twin brother. According to the South-Ossetian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO), the beating had been pre-planned, as law enforcers had a personal dislike for Inal.
