Law enforcers explain closed entrances to Makhachkala by coronavirus threat

Policemen have blocked all the entrances to Makhachkala and, referring to the order of the head of the city police. Only medics, law enforcers, and vehicles with foodstuffs and medicines are let into the city.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dagestan is the leader among the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) in the absolute number of coronavirus infection cases – as of April 29, there are 1231 such cases. By this indicator, Dagestan is in the fifth place in Russia. Twelve patients died from coronavirus here.

In the afternoon on April 29, all the entrances to Makhachkala along the "Kavkaz" Federal Highway were closed, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports. Thus, at the turn to the village of Novy Khushet (a suburb of Makhachkala), the entrance was blocked by police cars; and nobody was allowed to drive in.

One of the patrolmen has explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the entry is banned for everyone except for "law enforcers, medics and those who distribute foodstuffs and medical supplies."

"There is an order of the Makhachkala police boss," he explained.

The policeman on duty at the ring road in the Reductorny Settlement at the Press House building has explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that since April 28, the control over the self-isolation regime was tightened in the city.

"The republic is under self-isolation regime; no one should enter the city," he said.
