FSIN requests to transfer man sentenced for Nemtsov's murder from colony to prison

In Irkutsk, the court granted a request of a penal colony administration to transfer Zaur Dadaev, sentenced for the murder of Boris Nemtsov, to prison for three years, but the defence challenged the court's decision. The Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) began verifying photos from a feast in the penal colony with participation of Zaur Dadaev, posted on a social network.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier, conditions of the Zaur Dadaev's sentence serving had already been tightened: on September 10, 2018, the FSIN announced that he had been transferred to another penal colony because of an intentional violation of order at the penitentiary institution. Prior to that, sources reported that in the penal colony, Zaur Dadaev was threatened with transfer to more severe conditions of detention after his refusal to cooperate with investigators, who try to identify a customer of the Boris Nemtsov's murder.

On July 13, 2017, the court found guilty the defendants in the case on the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov. Zaur Dadaev, whom the investigators treated as a killer, was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.

The request to tighten the conditions of detention for Zaur Dadaev is connected with his constant violations of the rules of detention in the penal colony, the "Kommersant" reports. "The penal colony administration mentions his disobedience to warders and his failure to follow the daily routine," the "Kommersant" quotes a source as reporting.

In July 2018, photos from a feast with participation of Zaur Dadaev were posted on the "VKontakte" social network, the "Scanner Project" reports. According to the edition, Zaur Dadaev "might also use mobile phones and the Internet in the penal colony."
