In November 2018, six persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

At least six people perished in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in November 2018; and there is no information about the wounded ones. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

In Chechnya, in November 2018, three people fell victim to the conflict. During a special operation and during suppressing a self-explosion of a suicide bomber, three alleged militants were killed. Three law enforcers were wounded.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, three alleged members of an illegal armed formation (IAF) were killed in an armed clash.

In November 2018, in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania and Stavropol Territory no victims of the armed conflict were recorded.

  • Rights defenders give number of kidnapped people in Chechnya

    At least 80 residents of Chechnya have been kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers have identified the names of a number of them. In the village of Starye Atagi, Urus-Martan District, about 50 members of the Saif-Islam Elmurzaev family, suspected of setting the above car on fire, have been kidnapped; and about 30 people have been kidnapped in the Shali District, the "Memorial" Centre for Human Rights Defence (CHRD)* has reported.
