Law enforcers look for accomplices of militants killed in Chechnya

The militants, who were killed in a shootout with Chechen law enforcers, were plotting a terror act in Chechnya, the law enforcement bodies suggest. At the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia, fighters of the National Guard of Russia have started a special operation to search for accomplices of the killed militants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to sources, on September 16, three militants were shot dead near the border with Ingushetia in the Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya.

The shootout took place in the same area where workers from Chechnya guarded by law enforcers build a road in Ingushetia, explained Khasan, a resident of the Bamut village.

"Road workers are under the protection of law enforcers. That may be explained by the fact that the road is to be checked for mines. Moreover, it passes through the forest area," said the Bamut villager.
