In Baku, President Erdogan confirms support for Azerbaijan in Karabakh conflict

At the parade dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Baku liberation, the Azerbaijani leader has announced that the strong army is the main condition for the resolution of the Karabakh conflict and the army's power is growing. The President of Turkey, who also attended the parade, stated that his country would not restore relations with Armenia until the conflict was resolved.

On September 15, in Baku, Azadliq (Freedom) Square hosted the parade with participation of Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers and officers. Like during the June parade dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan's armed forces, the country demonstrated all types of military equipment and weapons available.

The parade was preceded by speeches presented by Ilham Aliev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, respectively. "The main condition necessary to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is the presence of a strong army. And today, the power of the Azerbaijani army is growing," Ilham Aliev announced at the parade.

For his part, Recep Erdogan, said that Turkey will continue to support Azerbaijan, including on the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. "Turkey will support all the efforts of Azerbaijan. We want to stop the suffering of one million Azerbaijani refugees," Recep Erdogan said.

He has emphasized that Turkey will not establish relations with Armenia and will not open the borders with Armenia until the Karabakh conflict is settled.
