Participants of "Don't kill!" action demand resignation of Georgia's Govt

In Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, at the action "Don't kill – together on guard of justice", protesters have demanded to punish those guilty of killing the schoolboy, David Saralidze, and create an interim government.

On December 1, 2017, as a result of a brawl near a school in Tbilisi, two schoolboys were stabbed. One of them died on the way to the hospital, the other died later. On June 1, the court sentenced one accused to 10.5 years in prison, and the second one – to 9 years and 9 months of imprisonment. On July 2, Zaza Saralidze, the father of one of the casualties, went on a hunger strike in the yard of the Georgian MIA, demanding to detain one of the main witnesses, whom he considered involved in his son's murder. On July 3, after a meeting with MIA bosses, he stopped his protest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 6, the Georgian Parliament approved the establishment of a temporary investigative commission on the murder case of two schoolboys in Tbilisi. The commission revealed new circumstances of the crime. However, the father of one of the assassinated teenager believes that the commission failed to cope with its mission, and announced resumption of protests from September 10.

The action "Don't kill – together on guard of justice" was held in the evening on September 10 in the central Rustaveli Avenue, in front of the parliament building. MPs from the oppositional parties "European Georgia" and "Free Democrats" have joined the action, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports referring to the broadcast of the action on air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company.

Giorgi Bokeriya, an MP and one of the leaders of the "European Georgia", who spoke at the action, accused the authorities of "taking no concrete actions on this case."

The participants in the protest rally gave the authorities a day to dismiss the incumbent government and create an interim one.
