Mexican fans stage colourful march before game in Rostov-on-Don

Football fans held a march on the day of South Korea-Mexico match of the FIFA World Cup-2018. Mexicans won 2:1. Townspeople's impressions from the event differ: some Rostov residents complain about traffic problems and poor organization, others share positive emotions from the festive atmosphere in the city.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russia hosts the FIFA World Cup, which will last until July 15.

Today, fans from Mexico gathered in the centre of Rostov-on-Don and marched to the stadium, carrying Mexican flags and singing national songs. Korean fans were among the marchers, but there were very few of them, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Football fans from Mexico responded positively to questions about whether they liked Russia and Rostov-on-Don, in particular. "Yes, we like everything, especially the weather! It's so hot in the city, as if we haven't left Mexico! We liked the reception in all the cities we've visited; Rostov seemed more comfortable than Moscow," one of the women, who turned out to be a Russian wife of a Mexican, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Local residents, who walked in the crowd of fans, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they are glad to take part in such an event. Rostov residents took photos in sombreros, taken from Mexicans, and wished victory to Mexico.

However, some townspeople complained about the inconveniences associated with the blocking of the traffic in central city. Besides, not everyone was satisfied with the organization of the holiday.

"I came to take a walk; after all it's the World Cup; and guests have come from all over the world, but in such heat it's a nightmare; why don't they give out bottles with water? It's inexpensive, but it would be very useful. I think this is a drawback of the organizers," Tatiana, a local, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
