Meeting participants block off Kavkaz federal route in Dagestan

Residents of Dagestan's Tsumadinsky and Botlikhsky districts held an unauthorized meeting in the Dagestani city of Khasavyurt on April 13, blocking off the federal route Kavkaz for some time. The people - they all are salesmen at the Khasavyurt market - demanded that immediate measures be taken in connection with a disappearance of their friends. According to them, six people had been taken away without any explanations by unknown people in black masks and camouflage uniforms. The whereabouts and destiny of the abducted people are unknown.

Chief of the Khasavyurt city police department Omar Tupaliyev thinks that people are taken to the Khankala federal military base in Chechnya. An officer of the Dagestani Interior Ministry's 6th department has gone there with a fact-finding mission.
