Resolution of Organizational Committee for Antiwar Actions on campaign for United Nations Administration Mission for Chechnya

The Organizational Committee for Antiwar Actions, which has assembled for its session on April 24, 2003 consisting of Elena Batenkova, Dmitry Brodsky, Lyudmila Vakhnina, Dmitry Ermoltsev, Anna Karetnikova, Mikhail Kriger, Sergey Marsky, Nika Maslenikova, Olga Miryasova, Andrey Nalyotov, Lev Ponomaryov, Nikolay Formozov, Nikolay Khramov,

1. declares its support of the proposal made by the Transnational Radical Party on April 20, 2003 in its appeal ?For the United Nations Administration Mission in Chechnya? to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the heads of the Member States of the United Nations, and the heads of their governments;

2. appeals to the Russian citizens, the adversaries of the war in Chechnya, especially to the cultural workers who signed the appeal ?Let?s Stop the Chechen War Together? to support this new initiative for peace, freedom, and democracy for Chechnya and for Russia;

3. thereupon, in particular, calls on the organizers of the weekly antiwar picket on Pushkinskaya  Square to organize collection of citizens? signatures under the above appeal during pickets;

4. appeals to the organizers of antiwar actions in Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and other Russian cities also to take active part in the selection of signatures under the appeal ?For the United Nations Administration Mission in Chechnya?.
