"Peace to Our Home!" action

The invitation by the Human Rights Center "Memorial" in Nazran to take part in the "Peace to Our Home!" action:

The university in Grozny is living!

The building is destroyed, the library is burned. Sounds of distant fire have become customary... But the eagerness to study is alive. Studies are sometimes the only light for the Chechen young people.

11 departments are working under difficult conditions. These departments are the Department of History, Department of Languages and Literature, Department of Romanic and German Languages and Literature, Department of Journalism, Department of Physics and Mathematics, Department of Chemistry and Biology, Department of Geography, Department of Economics and Finance, Department of Theater, Department of Law, and Department of Medicine.

Dear friends!

We invite you to take part in the first in the series of actions "Peace to Our Home".

The New Year's action under the slogan "A Book Is the Best Gift!" will be carried out in many Russian and foreign cities in December and January.

The New Year's Day is a good holiday. Your gift and kind words will worm somebody in Chechnya.

Send you book or/and greeting card to the students and teachers of the Chechen State University.

There is an acute lack of belletristic and professional literature, dictionaries and contemporary textbooks in professions.

(Do not send out-of-date textbooks, please. The university library has nowhere to keep them!)

Do give joy, and let the New Year be lucky for all of us!
