Investigation of the circumstances of terrorist act by suicide bomber in Grozny continues

The power of the explosive device used by the suicide terrorist, which exploded in the evening of June 30 in the center of the Chechen capital, was one-and-a-half kilogram of trotyl equivalent. The law enforcement agencies think that the aim of the suicide bomber could be the republic's president Ramzan Kadyrov.

"Experts have established that the power of the explosive device used by the suicide terrorist was approximately one-and-a-half kilogram of trotyl equivalent. The terrorist exploded himself approximately 50 meters from the main entrance to the theatre and concert hall, in the direct proximity of two "UAZ" patrol cars, when the militiamen tried to detain him", says the source in the republic's power authorities to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"It is most probable that the target of the suicide bomber was the republic's president Ramzan Kadyrov. Shortly before the explosion, the law enforcement agencies turned their attention to Adam Khamidov, he was under study by investigation agencies. His brother is an active member of criminal units and, although Khamidov himself was not member of the criminal underground, he was under their influence", relays our interlocutor.

According to him, Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov arrived to the TCH in Grozny already after the terrorist had committed his suicide terrorist act. A jubilee concert of Valid Dagaev, 70-year old, a well-known singer of Chechen songs, was arranged there on the same day.

Some local observers think that secret services are behind the terrorist act. "I doubt very much that the militants have facilities for zombying suicide bombers. This can only be done by serious secret services. Moreover, I thought that the bravura and merry spirit of Ramzan Kadyrov was very strange, when he commented on the incident immediately after the explosion", says one of the experts.

Meanwhile, Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov has announced that all law enforcement officers wounded during the explosion in Grozny will be granted state decorations. The militiamen may also expect money bonuses.
