President of Ingushetia bans rally of Plievo residents

Today, President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov forbade the relatives of Mikail Pliev, 32, a resident of Plievo village, who was kidnapped on March 4 in Pyatigorsk, to continue their marathon rally with a demand to find Mikail's whereabouts. The relatives had been earlier invited to the President.

According to Makka Plieva, Mikail's wife, President Evkurov said literally the following: "I don't allow you any unsanctioned rallies. You've gathered there, exposed yourselves, got videoed, talked to journalists and that'll do. Now, go home."

Also, the relatives assert that the President openly forbade trying to get a sanction on a rally by letting know that it is impossible.

"We stood today till lunch and hung a poster, which was then taken away by head of the administration Pliev. Now, people have dispersed, as the President gave us a clear ban," said Makka Plieva.

Relatives believe that both local authorities and law enforcement bodies undertake no effective actions to search Mikail Pliev.

"There's no investigation whatsoever. President himself asked us how the search went. They don't know even what we know. Besides, President Evkurov made strange statements, for example, he said, 'You should know what your does.' We were promised quite a lot, but nothing is done," said the wife of the kidnapped person.

Mikail Pliev's relatives do not exclude that the will continue the action in the form of a picket, which - according to the Russian legislation - needs no sanction.

In his turn, the Ingush leader said at the meeting with relatives of the kidnapped person: "I understand your despair and desire to get a prompt answer to the question on where he is and what had happened with your relative. Besides, as I've repeatedly stated earlier, to prevent similar situations, I address parents and relatives of young men: we should neutralize the reasons by which our youth is involved in illegal acts. Nothing happens just simply so."

Mr Evkurov said that a special working group had been set up for searching the missing people, including employees of power agencies of the republic and activists of public organizations. The group has the duty to find out all the circumstances of disappearance of Plievo residents and to organize the work of prompt detection of their whereabouts, the "Yuga.ru" reports.
