The case of a teenager from Adygea's comments has reached court.

The Adygea Prosecutor's Office has forwarded the indictment against a teenager from Adygea, who is accused of justifying terrorism due to his comments on social media.

As reported by Caucasian Knot, in late April, a teenager from Adygea was accused of justifying terrorism. The criminal prosecution of the minor resident of Adygea was the publication of a video of the aftermath of a missile strike on a banned social network.

According to investigators, in January of this year, the young man posted a video on a social network deemed extremist by a court and banned in the Russian Federation. The video captures the aftermath of a strike on apartment buildings and civilian vehicles in one of the towns.

At the same time, the accused openly justified the terrorists' actions and openly expressed a positive attitude toward the consequences of the missile strike in his comments, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported today on its Telegram channel.

Investigators in Adygea have opened a criminal case under the article on public justification of terrorism on the internet 1 . "The investigation has now been completed. The criminal case, with an indictment approved by the prosecutor, has been sent to court for consideration on the merits," the department said in a statement.

The regional police and prosecutor's office press service are not naming the accused or specifying the social media platform or specific comments the accused posted. The agencies also did not specify where exactly the video showing the aftermath of the missile strike was filmed.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that courts in southern Russia regularly sentence local residents to prison terms for social media posts. It is impossible to determine the actual number of such sentences, as not all cases of justifying terrorism are included in public court records.
