A Russian and Ukrainian citizen was convicted in Krasnodar of treason.

The Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced 49-year-old Ukrainian-Russian citizen Alexandra Krasnikova to 15 years in prison, finding her guilty of treason.

According to investigators and the court, the woman, who opposed the Russian government's political course and the special military operation, established contact with an officer of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv in 2023. She then traveled to Crimea, where she received Russian citizenship.

In March 2024, Krasnikova, "on orders from her supervisor," traveled to Novorossiysk, where she collected and transmitted information to an SBU officer, including statistical data on the location and number of GPS satellites, the press service of the Krasnodar Regional courts reported today on its Telegram channel.

The prosecution claimed that the information the woman provided could have been used to organize and commit sabotage or terrorist acts.

The court found Krasnikova guilty of treason and sentenced her to 15 years in prison, with one year of restricted freedom. The court also confiscated her mobile phones and 40,000 rubles, obtained "as a result of illegal activity." Krasnikov will serve her sentence in a general regime penal colony.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Sochi resident Andrei Miroshnikov to 16 years in prison, finding him guilty of transmitting photographs of Russian Armed Forces air defense facilities in Sochi.
