A resident of Ingushetia has been accused of participating in a terrorist organization.

The case of a resident of the village of Sagopshi, accused of participating in the activities of an illegal armed group, which is a cell of an international terrorist organization, has been referred to court.

A resident of the village of Sagopshi, Malgobek District, Ingushetia, has been accused of undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities (Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), participating in the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), participating in the activities of an illegal armed group (Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), acquiring and storing firearms (Part 4 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and illegal acquisition and Transportation of explosive devices (Part 4, Article 222.1 of the Russian Criminal Code).

According to the investigation, in March 2023, the accused voluntarily joined an illegal armed group, which is a separate cell of an international terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in Russia. He illegally possessed and transported combat handguns, ammunition, and explosive devices through Ingushetia. In a forested area in the Malgobek district, he and other members of the group underwent training for terrorist activities, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Ingushetia reported on its Telegram channel on May 15.

The accused also organized the covert movement of the group's members throughout the republic by car and searched for properties for them.

The man has been remanded in custody, and his case has been sent to court for consideration.

Previously, "Caucasian Knot" reported that on May 1, three Ingush residents were sentenced to lengthy prison terms. three Ingush residents, whom the court deemed accomplices of members of an illegal armed group killed during the counter-terrorist operation in Karabulak, were sentenced to 12 and 13 years in a maximum-security prison, respectively, and Tamerlan Khashagulgov received 14 years.
