Residents of a residential area in Makhachkala complained about the seizure of their houses.

In the DOSAAF microdistrict in Makhachkala, the homes and land plots of more than 500 families were seized due to a legal dispute between a Moscow company and a local businessman who purchased the land from it. Residents held a meeting to ask the authorities for assistance.

Residents of the DOSAAF microdistrict in Makhachkala held a meeting on May 10 to express their outrage over the seizure of their homes and land plots.

Several videos from the meeting were published by the Telegram channel "NNT News." In the first video, one participant describes the incident. According to her, approximately 500 families live in the neighborhood. More than ten years ago, a Moscow company sold a plot of land to a local doctor. He surveyed it and sold it. The residents legally purchased the plots, and the houses are registered with the city. However, it has now emerged that the doctor in question underpaid the company by approximately one million rubles, and they are now in court.

In the second video, an elderly local resident stated that she doesn't understand why their property has been seized. She said the company in question claims that a man named Musayev underpaid her, but it is not his property that has been seized, but the property of residents of the neighborhood. "What should we do? Let the competent authorities help resolve this issue," one of the meeting participants appealed to officials.

Another meeting participant said that residents of the neighborhood even wanted to raise money and resolve the matter peacefully, "so they'd leave us alone," but even that was unsuccessful.

Local residents of the SVO appealed to the Russian President, the Prosecutor General, and the Chairman of the Investigative Committee regarding the situation in the neighborhood. A video, also published on a Telegram channel, shows six people, one of whom stated that "our families could be left homeless." "Our homes and land were acquired legally, by bona fide buyers. <...> Many families invested their last resources, maternity capital, and years of labor into construction. Property is being seized, and families could be left without homes for reasons they have nothing to do with. We ask that the legality of this situation be investigated, the rights of bona fide owners protected, and the eviction of more than 500 families prevented," he said.

Previously, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in November 2023, a video of preparations for the demolition of an apartment building in the DOSAAF (Novy Gorod) district of Makhachkala was circulated on social media. Residents of the nine-story building, deemed illegal, attempted to protect it from demolition. Dagestan's head, Sergei Melikov, then stated that "the desperate protest against the demolition was inspired by the developer's manipulations."
