A court has placed a Derbent resident, whose dead daughter was found dead in a stroller, in a mental hospital, RIA Novosti reported, citing the joint press service of the courts of Dagestan.

"At the request of the investigator, the accused has been placed in the Republican Mental Hospital until October 8, 2026," the press service representative was quoted as saying.

The accused lived in Syria for a long time, then returned to Dagestan, where she gave birth to a girl in 2024, who died, presumably from exhaustion. Experts have made a preliminary conclusion that the woman may have "mental abnormalities," Sapa Kavkaz reported.
