Access to a Dagestani village is closed after a rockfall.

Transportation to the village of Zhazhada in the Tlyaratinsky District was interrupted after rocks fell on the highway.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," dozens of road sections in Dagestan were closed after floods, landslides, and, in mountainous areas, avalanches and snowstorms. On April 28, there were no more blocked settlements in the republic after workers cleared roads to four villages in the Charodinsky District.

As of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time on May 2, one section of road in Dagestan was closed, the "Dagestanavtodor" Telegram channel reported. "One settlement (one settlement in the Tlyaratinsky District) remains without transport links; 16 sections are closed with detours," the publication states.

According to a statement on the agency's website, transport links to the village of Zhazhada have been interrupted. This occurred after a landslide involving "large, oversized boulders" on the Nachad-Zhazada highway.

Zhazada has a population of 294, according to the 2020 census results posted on the Rosstat website.

Floods caused by heavy rains occurred in the North Caucasus in late March and early April and were among the most devastating in recent years. Six people died as a result of the flooding in Dagestan. Dagestan and Chechnya suffered the most from the natural disaster, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus - 2026".
