The emergency response team reported no oil spills due to the fire in Tuapse.

The fire in the Tuapse seaport has been extinguished, the task force announced, assuring that an oil spill into the sea had been avoided.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, two people were killed and seven others injured in Tuapse as a result of a drone attack on the night of April 16. Authorities initially reported that the dead were children aged five and 14; later in the day, the governor of Kuban clarified that a 14-year-old girl and an adult had died. Tuapse residents reported that after the attack "the entire sky was in smoke," and the smell of burning was felt in the city throughout the day.   During the drone attack on Tuapse, 60 residential buildings and three social facilities were damaged. Five private homes have been completely destroyed. Authorities reported a fire at the marine terminal. Unofficial reports indicate the Tuapse Oil Refinery is on fire. As of April 17, the body of the girl presumed dead in Tuapse has not yet been found. Rescuers are continuing to clear the rubble. Some residents remain in the hotel. Firefighting efforts at the marine terminal are also ongoing, with more than 170 personnel involved. On the afternoon of April 18, the emergency response team also reported the open fire at the Tuapse Seaport had been extinguished, and rubble clearing continued throughout the year.

Over 150 people and 49 pieces of equipment were involved in the firefighting effort, including from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory, the Krasnodar Territory task force reported today.

It is also claimed that oil products did not spill into the sea, but only into the river. "Specialists installed 750 meters of booms and five specialized collection devices, and set up an oil trap. Oil products were prevented from leaking into the sea," another report stated.

In September 2025, the Krasnodar Krai imposed a ban on disseminating information about drone attacks and their consequences, as well as on filming air defense operations, military installations, and critical infrastructure. In December 2025, Kuban authorities introduced fines for filming aerial attacks and air defense operations. The "Caucasian Knot" has published the corresponding bill of the regional legislative assembly.
