A border guard died in an avalanche in the Tsumadinsky District.

The body of a man missing after an avalanche was found in the Tsumadinsky District of Dagestan. Local residents quickly pulled another victim out of the snow.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", an avalanche covered two houses in the mountain village of Shaitli in the Tsuntinsky District, trapping a woman and child under the snow. The victims spent more than eight hours under the snow before rescuers and volunteers pulled them out from under the snowdrift. The woman was hospitalized with multiple fractures, her seven-year-old child was unharmed. On April 14, it became known that doctors were unable to save the woman.

Two people were trapped under the snow. One of the victims was rescued almost immediately – local residents quickly pulled him out alive. The search for the second soldier lasted two days. Emergency services and local volunteers were involved in the search and rescue operation, TASS reported.

According to the Caucasian Knot weather service, on April 15th, partly cloudy skies will be expected in Agvali, with light rain and snow expected overnight. Caucasian Knot also reported that residents of the snow-blocked village of Sodab-Moshob in the Charodinsky District asked for help in rescuing animals. In Archib and other nearby villages, supplies of hay prepared for the winter are running low. The village of Khosrekh in the Kulinsky District was also blocked by snow at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. Residents, cut off from the outside world by the bad weather, remain without electricity and communications, the village head stated on April 13, asking for food supplies to be sent to the village.
