A state of emergency has been declared in Vladikavkaz following an explosion at a pyrotechnics warehouse.

Two of those injured in the explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Vladikavkaz are in serious condition, the head of North Ossetia reported. A local state of emergency has been declared in Vladikavkaz.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," a powerful explosion occurred today at a fireworks warehouse in Vladikavkaz. Fourteen people were injured, including two children who lived in neighboring houses where the blast wave blew out windows. Two people died; their bodies were found under the rubble.

A state of emergency has been declared in Vladikavkaz due to the explosion on Partizansky Lane, announced Vyacheslav Mildzikhov, head of the city administration.

"The state of emergency applies within the boundaries of the following streets: Internatsionalnaya Street (from Chapaeva Street to O. Koshevogo Street), Markova Street (from Chapaeva Street to O. Koshevogo Street), and Partizansky Lane (from Internatsionalnaya Street to Markova Street)," the official wrote on his Telegram channel.

Mildzikhov added that the emergency zone has been cordoned off and a pass system has been introduced. Rubble clearance continues, and a task force and emergency response team are working at the site of the explosion.

13 of the 14 people injured in the explosion remain in hospitals, with two patients in serious condition, according to Sergei Menyailo, head of North Ossetia.

According to Menyailo, one of the injured is in stable but serious condition in the intensive care unit of the Republican Clinical Hospital; his life is not in danger. Eight more injured are being treated at the same hospital.

Two more people are in the emergency room. "One patient is in extremely serious condition, and doctors are fighting for his life. The second is under constant observation in moderate condition," Menyailo wrote on his Telegram channel.

The condition of the injured children, who are being treated at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital, is stable; their lives are not in danger, the official added.
