A Baku resident was injured in a landslide.

A landslide in Baku partially collapsed a private home, trapping a woman under the rubble. Rescuers handed the victim over to doctors.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on April 5, 27-year-old Faig Rasulov, a resident of the village of Gunduzgala, died in the Gusar region of Azerbaijan after being swept away by a mudflow. The incident occurred when a mudflow entered the Guruchay River, which flows through the village.

A landslide occurred on Geray Asadov Street in the Bakikhanov settlement of Baku's Sabunchu district, partially collapsing a private home.

Gunel Huseynova, born in 1996, was injured in the collapse; she sustained injuries of varying severity and was trapped under rubble, APA reported today.

Rescuers pulled the victim from the rubble and handed her over to an ambulance, Report writes.

As a reminder, on April 5, the Gejukh dam collapsed in Dagestan, washing several cars off the highway. Rescuers pulled seven people from the water, two of whom died in the hospital. Two more people are missing. The body of a five-year-old girl was later found, and rescuers continued the search for her grandmother.

Two more people, a girl and a child, were rescued from the river but died in the hospital, the department reported earlier that day in a separate publication.

Furthermore, in the Dagestani village of Kirki on April 5, a landslide destroyed a residential building, killing local resident Kistaman Mazanova. This brings the death toll in Dagestan to at least seven.

Flooding caused by heavy rains has continued in the North Caucasus since late March, and has become one of the most destructive in recent years. Dagestan and Chechnya suffered the most from the natural disaster, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus - 2026".
