79 residents of Dagestan were taken to temporary accommodation centers.

More than 220 people have been evacuated from the flood zone in Dagestan, of which 47 adults and 32 children have been taken to temporary accommodation centers, while the rest have moved in with relatives.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," 468 homes were flooded in the village of Adillotar in the Khasavyurt District, and authorities reported the evacuation of residents. Forty-three patients from the Batayurt village hospital were also evacuated. In Makhachkala, 103 people were evacuated from flooded areas on March 28.

In Dagestan, 221 people, including 126 children, have been evacuated from flooded areas, including Makhachkala, Buynaksk, and the Khasavyurt district, Vesti.ru reports, citing the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the ministry, seven temporary accommodation centers have been set up in the republic. "Currently, 79 people, including 32 children, are being housed in three temporary accommodation centers. The remaining evacuees have been accommodated with relatives and friends," the publication quotes the agency's statement.

In six municipalities, 39 residential buildings, 323 garden plots, and 84 sections of intracity roads were flooded. "Landslides and mudflows occurred in 14 municipalities, causing traffic difficulties or restrictions," the publication states.

As a reminder, in Chechnya, the village of Kundukhovo in Gudermes was flooded as a result of rising water levels in the Gums River, requiring the evacuation of residents.

Temporary accommodation centers were set up for evacuees at educational institutions and a sports complex, but residents of the village were staying with relatives.

In September 2025, heavy rains also led to flooding of substations and power outages in Makhachkala. Food spoiled in de-energized refrigerators, and cooking became difficult in apartments with electric stoves. Makhachkala residents have the right to demand compensation for damage caused by street flooding and extended power outages, lawyers have indicated.

Dagestan authorities promised financial assistance to residents whose property was damaged by flooding, but did not disclose the amount. Makhachkala residents paid 28,000-30,000 rubles for the towing and repair of flooded cars, while authorities only paid 10,000 rubles for property damage. Lawyers noted that car owners have the right to go to court to demand compensation from the mayor's office, which failed to ensure safe road traffic.
