Residents of a village in Gudermes have been evacuated.

The evacuation of residents of the Gudermes village of Kundukhovo from the flood zone was required after the water level in the Gums River rose. Temporary accommodation centers have been prepared for evacuees, authorities reported.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on March 28, floodwaters destroyed two bridges in Argun and Gudermes, restricting traffic.

As a result of rising water levels in the Gums River, the village of Kundukhovo in Gudermes was flooded, Khamzat Magamadov, head of the Gudermes District Administration, reported on his Telegram channel at 1:39 a.m. Moscow time.

"Emergency services, district administration employees, law enforcement officials, volunteers, rescuers, and all responsible agencies are working at the scene. Residents are being evacuated from flooded areas, and people are being provided with all necessary assistance," he wrote.

Temporary accommodation centers have been set up for evacuees. The official noted that the project is being implemented at educational institutions and a sports complex.

"Everyone who needs support is being provided with the necessary conditions, food, and support. Access roads are being cleared and restored, and specialized equipment is being deployed," the publication stated.

A state of high alert has been declared in Chechnya

A state of high alert has been declared in the republic due to heavy rains. Prime Minister Magomed Daudov signed an order to this effect, the Chechnya Today news agency reported on the evening of March 28.

According to the document, the state of high alert has been in effect since March 27. "Establish, from 7:00 p.m. on March 27, 2026, the "High Readiness" operating mode with a regional response level for the governing bodies and municipal forces of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the Chechen Republic," the agency quoted the document as saying.

As a reminder, in Dagestan, neighboring Chechnya, on March 28, rain and strong winds caused power outages, leaving more than 327,000 residents in 283 settlements without electricity.

In the capital of Dagestan, where more than 20 private homes were flooded as a result of rain, 103 people were evacuated from flooded areas, 30 of whom were taken to temporary accommodation centers. Homes in the city were flooded, and appliances, furniture, and cars were damaged. A state of high alert has been declared in Dagestan, and a state of emergency has been declared in Makhachkala.

Residents reported that Makhachkala is experiencing problems with electricity and water supplies, as well as transportation access. They complained that it is very difficult to reach emergency services.
