More than 50 villages in Dagestan are blocked due to a rockfall.

52 settlements in the Charodinsky District of Dagestan were left without transport links as a result of a major rockfall on the Gunib-Tsurib highway.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in the fall of 2025, 19 mountain villages in the Charodinsky District of Dagestan were cut off from transport links for a month due to a landslide. The landslide occurred on October 6, and authorities reported the road had been completely cleared only on November 3.

This morning, Dagestanavtodor reported "intensified landslide processes" in the Charodinsky District. According to the agency, traffic is prohibited in the danger zone, vehicles are being sent on a detour, and road clearing will begin after the landslide has stopped.

"The Tsurib-Archib highway is temporarily closed at 8 km," the Dagestanavtodor Telegram channel reported.

Later in the afternoon, the Dagestan Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a rock slide had left 52 villages in the Charodinsky District without service.

According to the department, the incident occurred at 17 km of the Gunib-Tsurib highway. Traffic is blocked, and there is no bypass road to 52 mountain villages, Interfax-Yug reports, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The volume of rock that fell onto the road is approximately 8,000 cubic meters, according to the Telegram channel "Only Facts. Dagestan."
