A participant in a land dispute in Kantyshevo received the minimum sentence for double murder.

The Nazran District Court of Ingushetia found pensioner Magomed Kodzoev guilty of murdering two people in a state of passion and sentenced him to three years in a penal colony.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on June 23, 2021, it was reported that one person was killed and two were injured in a shooting in the village of Kantyshevo in the Nazran District of Ingushetia. The following day, the death toll was revealed to be four. The prosecutor's office reported that a local resident had been detained and a criminal case had been opened against him for murder. Pensioner Magomed Kodzoev was later arrested. According to the court, hostility developed between Kodzoev and his neighbor over a dispute over the right to mow grass on a public property. This led to a quarrel involving insults between Kodzoev and his six sons on the property on June 23, 2021, and the victim and his three sons on the property, the press service of the Nazran District Court reported today. The neighbor demanded that Kodzoev, who had been the first to mow the grass on the property for the season, stop, citing the fact that he had started mowing grass for haymaking in the area before Kodzoev in previous years. The defendant, in a state of intense emotional distress due to repeated insults from his neighbor, fired several shots from a SAIGA-MK carbine at the victim and his sons. He wounded his son and the neighbor's 32-year-old son, both of whom later died in the hospital.

After firing, Kozdoyev, in a state of intense emotional distress, also fired at the victim's 27-year-old son, who attempted to prevent him from shooting. The young man suffered a gunshot wound through and through, which was assessed as serious bodily harm.

The defendant refused to testify at the court hearing, the press service clarified.

The Caucasian Knot also reported that municipal administrations have created commissions to reconcile participants in conflicts based on blood feuds and domestic quarrels, the Ingush authorities reported in January 2024. According to their data, in 2023, the Ingush authorities and the clergy resolved more than 30 such conflicts. In March 2024, Kalimatov announced the resolution of 13 conflicts between families since the beginning of the year. In 2025, 40 conflicts between families were resolved, including six cases of blood feuds, the head of the republic reported.
