A Kuban resident received a prison sentence in a case of recruitment to the RDC*

A military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Andrei Peshkov, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory, to ten years in a maximum-security prison. According to security officials, Peshkov persuaded an acquaintance to join the Russian Volunteer Corps*.

The Southern District Military Court has been hearing the case of Andrei Peshkov from the Krasnodar Territory since January; the sentence was handed down today, March 10.

Peshkov was charged with aiding terrorist activity (Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of eight to fifteen years in prison) and public calls for terrorist activity via the internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of five to seven years in prison).

According to the prosecution, Peshkov sent his acquaintance a link to the official RDC* channel and certain informational materials in a private message, urging him to join the terrorist organization. The correspondence between them lasted from September 10, 2024, to July 21, 2025, according to a statement from the court's press service.

The charge of justifying terrorism relates to an incident on June 14, 2025, when Peshkov, according to security officials, published a text commentary about RDC*, stating that he considered the organization's actions "correct, worthy of support and emulation," the court's Telegram channel reports.

Peshkov was sentenced to ten years in a maximum-security penal colony, with the first two years to be served in prison. The court's press service did not specify whether he admitted his guilt. Caucasian Knot has not yet received any comments from the defendant's lawyer regarding the verdict or plans to appeal it.

As of 7:20 p.m. Moscow time today, Andrei Peshkov's name is not on the Rosfinmonitoring register of terrorists and extremists.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a military court in Rostov-on-Don in February sentenced Kuban resident Dmitry Khasyanov to six years in a maximum-security prison, after he filled out a "candidate for membership in the RDC"* form. In early March, 25-year-old Kropotkin resident Vladislav Suryadnov, whom the court deemed a participant in the RDC*, was sentenced to 14 years in a maximum security prison.

* The organization is designated as a terrorist organization and is banned in Russia.
