A lieutenant colonel of the internal service from Dagestan was killed in the SVO zone.

Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov, an employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, was killed in a military operation in Ukraine. Since its beginning, at least 1,844 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by March 8, authorities and security forces reported that at least 1,843 soldiers from Dagestan had been killed in the SVO zone.

The Dagestan Prosecutor's Office announced the death of Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov in a military operation in Ukraine on its VKontakte page.

Officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan visited the family and burial site of Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov. "First, the prosecutor's office delegation went to Makhachkala, where the deceased officer's mother lives. Then the delegation went to the village of Khuna in the Laksky District, where the hero's grave is located," the agency said in a statement.

The prosecutor's office did not provide details about the soldier's biography or death in the statement.

Thus, at least 1,844 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

"Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Northern Military District Statistics: Losses Are Mounting for Southern Russia."

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Are Denying Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers," which describes the stories of the slain soldiers. In particular, the widow of one of the slain soldiers said that without a body, the battalion did not make payments in connection with the death of the soldier.
