Volgograd residents' apartments damaged by drone attacks

The Ministry of Defense reported 10 drones shot down this morning in four regions of the Southern Federal District. In Volgograd, the attack damaged the windows of apartment buildings.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last night, according to the Ministry of Defense, the military shot down 77 Ukrainian drones, including 24 in the Krasnodar Krai, nine in the Rostov Oblast, and one in the Volgograd Oblast. Four more drones were shot down over the Sea of ​​Azov, and the rest were shot down in the Kursk, Belgorod, Samara, Saratov, and Voronezh regions, as well as in Crimea.

From 7:00 to 9:00 Moscow time, 12 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed, including five in the Rostov region, three in Kuban, and one each in the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, the Ministry of Defense reported.

Two more drones were shot down outside the Southern Federal District - in the Belgorod region, the publication notes.

According to Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov, the attack damaged window frames in four apartment buildings in the south of Volgograd: at 6 Taneeva Street, 14 Panferova Street, 7 Saushinskaya Street, and 2-aya Shturmanskaya, 9a.

Debris was recorded falling on one of the production sites.

"Instructions have been given to prepare the temporary accommodation center. Debris has also been recorded falling on one of the production sites. There are no injuries, nor is there any damage to utility or industrial infrastructure," he was quoted as saying on the regional administration's Telegram channel.

This morning, drones were destroyed in three more districts of the Rostov Region – Belokalitvinsky, Kamensky, and Verkhnedonsky, Yuri Slyusar reported on his Telegram channel. "There have been no reports of casualties or damage on the ground," he wrote.

The Kuban operational headquarters and Astrakhan Region Governor Igor Babushkin, as of 11:55 a.m. Moscow time, had not reported on the consequences of the morning attacks in their Telegram channels.

As a reminder, on December 15, 2025, 38 drones were shot down in the Astrakhan Region. They attacked "industrial and energy facilities," Igor Babushkin reported that day in his Telegram channel. He called it "one of the most massive attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Astrakhan Region."

In the Rostov Region, there is a ban on filming aerial attacks and their aftermath, air defense operations, and the locations of military units. The "Caucasian Knot" published a corresponding governor's decree.

In September 2025, the Krasnodar Territory banned the dissemination of information about drone attacks and their consequences, as well as filming air defense operations, military installations, and critical infrastructure. In December 2025, Kuban authorities introduced fines for filming aerial attacks and air defense operations. The "Caucasian Knot" published a corresponding regional legislative assembly bill.

In other regions of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts, including the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, filming drone attacks and their aftermath is also prohibited. These prohibitions contradict the Constitution, which guarantees the inadmissibility of censorship and the freedom to search for, record, and disseminate information, lawyers pointed out.
