A fighter from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine.

Mafedar Ramazanov was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 1,803 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by February 6, at least 1,802 fighters from Dagestan had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The head of the district, Magomed Kurbanov, announced the unveiling of a memorial plaque to Mafedar Ramazanov at the Novolizhenskaya school in the Tabasaran district.

Mafedar Ramazanov was born on August 20, 1976, in the village of Novolizhenskaya. After completing eighth grade, he entered the hand-to-hand combat instructor school in the town of Dagestanskie Ogni. In the winter of 2025, he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and was sent to the North Caucasus Military District. On March 9, 2025, at the age of 48, he died in the Sudzhansky District of the Kursk region, according to a statement from the district head.

Thus, at least 1,802 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

"Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Northern Military District Statistics: Casualties Mounting in Southern Russia."

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Are Denying Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers," which describes the stories of soldiers from other regions. For example, the mother of the murdered Dmitry Ukhanov said she searched for her son's body for four months, while administration and military registration and enlistment office staff inquired from her about the progress of the search without offering any assistance.
