Five illegal mining farms have been discovered in Ingushetia.

In four settlements of Ingushetia, energy workers discovered five illegal mining farms, the damage from which exceeded 400 million rubles.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", last June in Ingushetia, in the rural settlement of Kantyshevo a mining farm with 264 cryptocurrency mining machines was discovered, the damage was estimated at four million rubles.

In Ingushetia, the work of five illegal mining farms has been stopped; they were located in Plievo, Kantyshevo, Sunzha, and Surkhakhi, RBC reported on January 31.

It is noted that the damage caused by mining farms illegally connected to the power grid is estimated at 415 million rubles.

As a reminder, the Russian government approved a ban on cryptocurrency mining in six North Caucasus republics - Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Chechnya - effective January 1.

In April 2021, the Council of Ulama of Ingushetia banned Muslims from buying and selling cryptocurrencies due to the lack of legal guarantees for their owners. Blockchain technologies are permitted from a Sharia perspective, but each cryptocurrency "needs to be approached individually," as there are different opinions on them from Islamic authorities, Rashit Tugushev, a member of the Ulema Council at the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
