The Krasnodar City Duma approved the reduction of a park on Rozhdestvenskaya Embankment amid a picket.

The Krasnodar City Duma meeting, at which deputies approved a decision to seize part of a public garden for the construction of a church, took place against the backdrop of a picket by a resident of the Yubileiny microdistrict. She called on deputies not to develop the alley and to relocate the church construction elsewhere.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on January 16, despite protests from residents, the mayor of Krasnodar approved the planning plan for the Rozhdestvenskaya Embankment in the Yubileiny microdistrict, where the church is planned to be built. A month earlier, on December 15, 2025, residents of the Yubileiny microdistrict of Krasnodar, protesting the embankment development, recorded a video message to Vladimir Putin, but their question was not addressed during the president's direct line. On December 17, 2025, Krasnodar City Duma deputy Alexander Safronov was summoned to the police station because of this video message; a Krasnodar official filed a denunciation against him. On January 26, a picket was held in defense of the embankment and demanding the resignation of city mayor Yevgeny Naumov.

A picket against the development of the embankment in Krasnodar's Yubileyny microdistrict took place today outside the Krasnodar administration building. The picket was timed to coincide with a city council meeting, which considered the issue of allocating land from the 80th Anniversary of the Krasnodar Territory Square on the embankment in the Yubileyny district of the city for the construction of a Church of the Holy Mother of God, the activist reported.
