Another water outage in Dagestan has left residents confused.

In Makhachkala, several districts have been without water for over a day due to a pipeline rupture. The restoration deadlines promised by authorities have long passed, but local residents say there is still no water. They wonder if such accidents are too common in Dagestan.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," residents of Kaspiysk have been complaining since January 8th about problems with the water supply and officials ignoring their communications. On January 15th, it was reported that another water main had broken down. On January 17, authorities reported that the water supply was being restored, but the following day they urged residents of two districts to refrain from drinking tap water. The State Housing Inspectorate investigated the complaints and reported that the water supplier failed to record the disconnection in the official metering log, which constitutes grounds for an administrative case and a large fine.

Residents of Dagestan continue to complain about water supply problems. On the night of January 25, a pipeline ruptured in Makhachkala. The Unified Operator of the Republic of Dagestan reported that due to the emergency, water supply from the Khushet treatment plant has been temporarily cut off. The shutdowns are being implemented to drain the main water pipeline for repairs, according to the Chernovik 2.0 Telegram channel. The dispatch service noted that water outages will occur during the repairs in the village of Novy Khushet, Nasrutdinov Avenue, the Camping microdistrict, and the grounds of the Dagestan sanatorium. The time for resuming water supply was not specified.

Closer to midnight, the Telegram channel published a message from another subscriber about the same water main accident. According to him, Peter the Great Avenue, where he lives, wasn't on the list of addresses without water, but around 11:00 PM Moscow time, "both hot and cold water disappeared." The subscriber claims this refers to the area around the Kaspiy store, and possibly the entire Reduktorny settlement in Makhachkala. "And, of course, none of the residents stocked up on water, since our address (Peter the Great Avenue) wasn't listed," he noted.

He wonders, citing the accident in Kaspiysk, whether accidents are too common. In a subsequent post, he wrote that the power was also out in Reduktorny settlement.

The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the emergency water supply outage in part of Makhachkala due to a main water main break. The emergency recovery operations have been put under control, Kommersant reports, citing the republic's department's press service.
