A Sochi resident has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term in a terrorism case.

The Southern District Military Court sentenced Sochi resident Kirill Sidorov to 11 years in prison for transmitting photographs of city infrastructure to members of the "Freedom of Russia Legion"*.

According to the court, Sidorov photographed three sections of Sochi's infrastructure and sent the photographs to a member of a terrorist organization. He was also sent a form to join the terrorist organization, and he expressed his willingness to act in its interests and carry out specific actions on the orders of its leaders.

"At the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt in committing the crimes," the press service of the Southern District Military Court reported today on its Telegram channel.

Kirill Sidorov was found guilty of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization 1 and was sentenced to imprisonment. for 11 years in a maximum-security penal colony, with the first three years to be served in prison. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed by the parties to the Military Court of Appeals, the court clarified.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in late October 2025, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a Tuapse resident, who was found guilty of treason. According to the court, the man planned to join the "Freedom of Russia Legion"*. In November 2025, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced 44-year-old Novorossiysk resident Natalya Lopatko to 14 years in prison for treason. According to the court, in January 2024, Natalia Lopatko collected information about the operation and location of air defense systems in the city of Novorossiysk.
