The name of the soldier from the Volgograd region killed in Ukraine has been released.

Alexander Gaivoronsky from the Rudnyansky district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have named at least 1,621 soldiers killed there.

The death of a soldier from the Rudnyansky District was also reported on December 10, 2025. Officials reported that Denis Rossokhatsky, born in 1997, was killed.

After Putin announced a "partial mobilization" for September 2022, attempts were recorded in the Volgograd Region and other regions of southern Russia to mobilize people who, due to their age or health, should not be sent to the combat zone. The governor acknowledged that many of those mobilized do not meet the criteria established by Putin. However, the regional governor's announcement did not affect the mobilization regime in Volgograd.
