Taganrog residents' homes damaged in drone attacks

Military forces shot down seven drones in the Rostov Region today. In Taganrog, the attack damaged gas pipelines, an industrial facility, residential buildings, and cars.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," this morning an air attack occurred in Taganrog, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar and the city's mayor reported. Officials did not specify whether the attack was carried out using drones or other means.

In Taganrog and the Krasnosulinsky District, air defense forces destroyed and suppressed seven UAVs, Yuri Slyusar reported on his Telegram channel.

According to him, there are no injuries. "According to preliminary data, an industrial facility, residential buildings, gas lines, and cars were damaged in Taganrog," he wrote.

From 11:00 PM Moscow time on January 12 to 7:00 AM Moscow time, air defense alert systems destroyed 11 Ukrainian drones, including seven in the Rostov region, the Ministry of Defense reported on its Telegram channel. According to the publication, one additional drone was shot down each in the Belgorod, Kursk, and Oryol regions, as well as in Crimea.

At 8:36 AM Moscow time, Svetlana Kambulova announced the cancellation of the air strike threat in Taganrog. "Attention! Air raid warning for the city has been lifted," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

As a reminder, on December 25, 2025, three people were injured in a drone attack in Taganrog and Bessergenevka. On Instrumentalnaya Street, two apartment buildings and one private home were damaged, as well as parked cars.

Afterwards, Sergei Bondarenko, a resident of the building on Instrumentalnaya Street who lost his car in a drone strike, asked about compensation during a live Q&A with the governor.

The Taganrog resident's appeal resulted in the governor issuing a decree on the compensation procedure for car owners whose property was damaged by drone attacks. The decree provides for a payment of up to 500,000 rubles per damaged vehicle and up to a million rubles per destroyed vehicle.
