The Crimean Bridge is closed to traffic.

Traffic on the road bridge between Krasnodar Krai and Crimea has been suspended due to unsafe passage.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on the morning of January 9, drivers of 525 vehicles were waiting their turn to cross the Crimean Bridge.

Vehicle traffic on the Crimean Bridge has been closed, according to a post published at 11:52 a.m. Moscow time on the Telegram channel "Crimean Bridge: Operational Information."

"We ask those on the bridge and in the inspection zone to remain calm and follow the instructions of transport security officers," the post noted.

Prior to this, at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time, as earlier this morning, there were no lines in front of the inspection points on either side of the bridge, according to the posts Telegram channel.

Telegram users in the "Crimean Bridge Chat" chat reported today that there were no lines at the security checkpoints. "No lines on either side," wrote Punk.

"On the Kerch side, traffic is clear. We arrived at 5:45 and crossed in 10 minutes," reported Maryana. "No traffic jams in either direction," wrote Anna Nenastina.

Traffic is completely at a standstill: both cars and trains are waiting at a safe distance.

Chat administrator Oleg Volodin explained the information about the road closure to users. "What does 'the bridge is temporarily closed' mean? It's an air raid siren [...] Traffic comes to a complete halt: both cars and trains wait at a safe distance. If the siren sounds on the bridge, trains and cars continue on their way. [...] The siren typically lasts from 30 minutes to 2 hours, sometimes longer—up to 4-6 hours. The bridge reopens immediately after the siren is lifted, as soon as the military deems the threat eliminated," he wrote.

As a reminder, on August 18, 2025, security forces discovered an explosive device in a car arriving from Georgia. According to the FSB, the car was destined for the Krasnodar Krai and was planned to be used to detonate the Crimean Bridge.

On July 17, 2023, the Crimean Bridge was attacked by Ukrainian drones, destroying one span and damaging another. Traffic on the bridgewas restored only on November 1 of that year.

On October 8, 2022, an explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge, collapsing two spans. Traffic on the bridge was resumed a month later. The FSB stated that the terrorist attack was organized by Ukrainian military intelligence. Human rights activists recognized all eight defendants in the bridge bombing case as political prisoners, claiming that they were all random people. On November 27, 2025, the court sentenced the defendants to life imprisonment.
